On the show Lie to Me.... Does dr lightman and foster ...?

Forgive me for asking, but I'm really wanting to know.. On the show that was recently cancelled, Lie to Me, starring characters "Dr. Lightman" and "Gillian Fosters," to any of you watchers throughout the seasons, did they ever get together at some point? Or were they just friends..? I'm new to this show and very much intrested.
